I'm gonna share a little bit in here about drawing hair, some ppl asked me about it lately in Instagram. Honestly, I still try to develop my fix technique on drawing hair, but I'm getting there slowly. The most important thing about it is the mindset, because when I drew 'smokey-natalie' I had this... fear feeling about the result, and yeah, the result doesn't matched my expectation. And then in the next drawing of the series, 'smokey-emma', I tried to let it flow, the result is great, I completely satisfied with it, as with the last 2 of the series. And I always keep this in my mind: 'hair is random', so I don't need to draw exactly like the reference, and I improvised, modified it in any parts, but still keep the big picture of it.
The rest is about the technique, mapping it (know the direction of the hair), grouping it altogether, stroking from both sides, making highlights in wherever the light comes, brushing it (for blending), layering (repeat until satisfied) and last... detailing (individual hair and smoothing). But this technique isn't the main point, the main point is our mindset, really work on me.
Okay, next series/project/collaboration/art trade or whatever it may comes to me, I'm ready!!!
Have a wonderful days ahead awesome people...
